Application
RockySea Petro can provide three main types drilling jar: mechanical, hydraulic, and hydraulic.
1. The combination of mechanical and hydraulic drilling jar absorbers combines the advantages of the above two shock absorber principles. Even if the hydraulic delayed shock absorber fails, the mechanical shock absorber can still be used, and the technical performance has been greatly improved, which is in line with the future development direction of shock absorber products
2. Hydraulic drilling jar uses the damping effect of hydraulic oil flowing in a small channel as a locking mechanism, and utilizes the release caused by sudden changes in the channel to generate impact inside the shaker, thereby forming vibration inside the drill string. Due to the limitations of its locking mechanism, hydraulic shock absorbers can only produce shock in a single direction, generally upward shock. Due to its superior long delay function compared to mechanical jars, its impact force can be adjusted arbitrarily by the operation of the driller. However, hydraulic media, sealing materials, and sealing structures are easily affected by factors such as wear and well temperature, resulting in unstable product life, adaptability, and reliability. Obviously, this type of shock absorber has very strict requirements for the design of sealing structures, the selection of sealing materials, and the machining accuracy of parts.
3. Mechanical drilling jar absorber utilizes the principle of mechanical friction, and the locking mechanism adopts a set of ribbed slips. The release elastic sleeve of the slip pair is controlled by the deformation under pressure, and the shock force is not affected by the temperature inside the well. Mechanical shock absorbers can be designed with adjustable or non adjustable shock forces. The shock force of adjustable shock absorbers is adjusted at the wellhead, while that of non adjustable shock absorbers is set during product assembly and cannot be adjusted on site. However, the overall length of the machine is short, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Mechanical shock absorbers require high precision in metal materials, heat treatment, and machining.
Principle
When it is necessary to perform an upward jarring operation with a vibrator, sufficient pre tension is applied to the ground, the locking mechanism inside the tool is unlocked, and the stored energy in the drill string is released. The hammer of the vibrator impacts the anvil, and the stored tensile strain energy in the drill string is quickly converted into kinetic energy, which is transmitted to the clamping point in the form of stress waves, causing a tension far exceeding the pre tension at the clamping point, causing the stuck drill string to slide upwards. After multiple shocks, the stuck drill string detached from the stuck area.
The principle of down jarring is similar also.
Description
The main types of jars used include drilling jars, salvage jars, and ground jars. If encountering jamming during drilling or tripping, it is possible to shake and release the jamming at any time. Salvage jars are only used for drilling operations when they need to be released, and cannot be operated while drilling for extended periods of time. Ground shock absorbers are only used at the wellhead, and their vibration effect on the stuck point is downward shock, making on-site use more convenient.
